Jason Lajeunesse Saves the CHBP Mainstage from Grimes's Bass

You've got to respect new Capitol Hill Block Party owner Jason Lajeunesse's commitment to making this year's event a success. When Grimes's bass proved too powerful for the mainstage—causing all of her monitors, keyboards, and stands to bounce out of control—he sprinted out onto the stage with a roll of trusty duct tape to reassert control over her seismic beats so that the show could go on inducing all sorts of crowd surfing without interruption.

At first I thought you said John Larroquette, looked at the picture, and accepted it.

This brings up another point, though. That seems to be a larger problem with her show. Is this her first tour? We saw her last weekend at Pitchfork and she was having the same issues, as well as some with levels (vocals were way too quiet). I'd think she would try to iron out these types of things prior to showtime.

Good music, though.

I think this is her first biggish tour: her February Seattle stop was at the Sunset.

I didn't remember the bouncing monitors at Pitchfork, but may have been distracted by the stage dancers and warlock.

(As to Lajeunesse: I only commanded that you respect his commitment to the event's success, but feel free to interpret more broadly.)
