Seattle Gay Scene broke the news yesterday that Kevin Kauer, better known as DJ Nark, will be overseeing the creative direction of that new dance club all the kids are talking about (the one they're building over on Broadway between the frame store and the glass-cutting place).

The artist renderings of the interior are giving me a weird 90s flashback (ye olde gay Jestons look), but all that really matters is the lineup of artists Nark will be bringing into the space. Nark is the guy who brought John Cameron Mitchell to town last week, and he told me he's an "excited puppy" about his new gig. When I made him tell me acts he's bringing to Q—or acts he wants to bring to Q—he tossed out a billion names:

Cut Copy, Daniel Wang, Joey Negro, Kim Ann Foxman, Horse Meat Disco, Crazy P, Tiger & Woods, Frankie Knuckles, Ilija Rudman, Sleazy McQueen, Edit Murphy, Francois K, Chris Malinchuck, Honey Soundsystem, Classix, Andy Butler, Greg Wilson, Maxxi Soundsystem, Jacques Renault, In Flagranti, Maceo Plex, and many, many more plus favorite DJs out of SF, LA, and NYC...

The guy's unstoppable. Good on ya, Q.

This club reminds of Shine a night club that used to be in Vancouver. If he brings in these DJs and can keep the club crowded with a good mix of the classy (is that possible in seattle) GLTB and str8 crowd, while keeping out the annoying east siders that kill the club scene, then he might make clubbing in Seattle a fun thing.

YES! Those Sundays at Shine in Vancouver were legendary.

I have no doubts that NARK will surpass everyone's expectations. BRAVO!
