I've always believed that it's better to kill 'em with kindness than to kill 'em with contempt, but when your question is particularly ill-informed, you're just opening the door to trouble. I'm sure you've met instructors who like to say, "There are no stupid questions." More often than not, I'm inclined to agree, unless the question revolves around a sweeping generalization, in which case, the fate of Anonymous could be yours.
