Rick's lawyer pleaded no contest yesterday, to a misdemeanor charge of reckless driving "with driving under the influence conditions." Rick did not attend the hearing. Police spotted Rick speeding in his '63 Corvette on the Pacific Coast Highway last year. He was originally charged with drunken driving, but the new charge does not mention alcohol impairment. Rick is required to complete a three-month alcohol education program and will remain on "informal probation" for three years.
Rick's autobiography Late, Late at Night, published in 2010, received at least one review titled "Rick Springfield's autobiography will keep you reading 'Late, Late at Night'" and became a New York Times Best Seller, further negating any value of the designation.
