Last Night / Television Rodriguez Performs "Crucify Your Mind" on The Late Show With David Letterman

Trenchant Detroit songsmith Rodriguez—the subject of the excellent documentary Searching for Sugar Man; review coming next week—performed “Crucify Your Mind” on The Late Show With David Letterman last night. The 70-year-old legend did the swaying, tropical tune with a sneaky, bitter bite to it from his 1970 classic LP Cold Fact (reissued by Light in the Attic in 2009) with a large orchestra backing him, and it sounded lovely. The man is finally getting his due, only about four decades late.
