Berlin-by-way-of-Düsseldorf duo Mouse on Mars (Jan St. Werner and Andi Toma), who released Parastrophics earlier this year, have issued a key track from the LP, and they've commissioned a nifty video to go along with it—assuming you like to look at stuff under a microscope, and who doesn't? Especially when the substances are all carefully color-coordinated—in shades of black, white, red, and pink—and edited to move in time with the music.

According to the press notes:

Pfadfinderei edited this from video clips of cell biology research experiments made for the Laboratoire d'Hydrodynamique by Mouse on Mars' friend Charles Baroud.

If anything, I prefer the video to the song, though I do like it. It's just missing one thing: Mark E. Smith (percussionist Dodo Nkishi, a longtime associate, is the vocalist on this track). "They Know Your Name" is out now as a limited-edition single. Modeselektor's Monkeytown releases the mini-album WOW on Nov 2.
