Show Review / Bumbershoot / Love The Young Evils Make Me Want to Start a Band

I have zero musical talent. None. I mean, I took piano lessons as a kid, and tried to play bass guitar as a teenager, and I sing really loudly in the car, but I was never actually all that great at any of those things and besides that, the idea of getting on a stage and playing in front of people makes me want to barf.

But the Young Evils make playing music look so easy and fun that it's impossible for me to watch them and not want to jump on stage and do what they do. Shake a tambourine or dance along or even sing. Of course, if I tried I wouldn't be nearly as good at it. The band is really perfecting a crunchy pop rock sound that is both energetic and effortless, as witness in their performance of my personal favorite, "Dead Animals":
