Vex Ruffin's "Take It" and the General Greatness of Vex Ruffin

Posted by on Wed, Sep 5, 2012 at 2:12 PM

Yeah, Vex Ruffin is that dude who writes punk songs in his bedroom that heads liked so much, Stones Throw started putting his stuff out. He uses an SP-303 sampler for drums and apparently UFO noise samples for bass lines. Add in some jagged guitar spine, and a dude just belting it on the vocals, and you end up with something a whole lot better than all that other stuff has that's popped into my inbox in the last two days (HELL YES to the short week.) Do yourselves a gob of favors and go investigate last year's Crash Course EP, a track of which is here. If you want more, go download his Eulogy EP (Soundcloud stream after the jump), which you can get for free right here.
