!!! Mo-dettes !!

Posted by on Fri, Oct 5, 2012 at 3:28 PM

The Mo-dettes were a punk-informed, new-wave band, formed by former Slit and Raincoat Kate Koriss and Ms. Jane Crockford. Looking back now, they didn't have too much of a scene presence, and def no US pop radio play. It's even kinda hard to find their records now, but I don't think their records were issued in the US. Anyway, based on the last decade of garage rock's assuming more new-wave tendencies the Mo-dettes catalog sounds more relevant than ever. Right, so dig this AWESOME video for their first 'A' side, "White Mice," which was shot on the cheap, dig them "fancy" effects!!! Now THIS is the '80s I remember.

They charted on the "inde" charts in the UK with this, their self-released single; the flip, "Masochistic Opposite," is just as good!

Also: Oddly, this Line Out entry was written while listening to King Crimson's Starless And Bible Black.
