Blue Sky Black Death & Skull & Bones - "Rebel Bitches"

Posted by on Mon, Oct 8, 2012 at 5:38 PM

The SEA/SF production duo Blue Sky Black Death, known for their stellar instrumental work, have in recent times been going hard in the paint creating hazy, menacing vibes with Seattle's clever supervillain Nacho Picasso, repentant Arkansas rapper Pepper Boy, and now this, the group Skull & Bones. Seattle-based 19-year-olds Caz Greez and Bolo Nef (originally hailing from Chicago and Queens, respectively) kick their choppy, unsophisticated ign'ance over BSBD's wailing ghost-trap beat, almost channeling a gothy No Limit vibe. They definitely lack big bro Nacho's descriptive flair, but Greez in partiuclar has some engaging bully-charisma. The punk-movie clips go well with the mayhem, and the title almost nods to a Bikini Kill classic—but there's little chance they'd be feeling the particularly "suck my dick"-heavy lyrics of this one.

BSBD can basically do no wrong.

BSBD always have a good sound. But the lyrics are freaking stupid, and juvenile.
How does this nod to bikini kill?! Because they use the word rebel? Shits weak!
