Just in time for grey days, 6pm darkness and this all-ages show at Chop Suey, Seattle/SF production duo Blue Sky Black Death has released "Suicide Capital," a way-necessary collaboration with local BRK affiliate Key Nyata. Backed by a demonically pitched-down overdub of his own voice, Key Nyata stalks through a cemetery in all black and raps a verse from beyond the grave over the creeping menace of this "glacial g-funk" beat. It comes together even better than expected, with BSBD's production skewed slightly toward Key's propensity for old-school "West Coast Groove Shit," allowing him to establish his own dark presence on the mic rather than just filling in for usual suspect Nacho Picasso.
This track, along with the recent Skull & Bones debut and the Nacho Trilogy, also means that Blue Sky Black Death have now produced for everyone on the bill for the Chop Suey show. Catch the whole circle of villains this Friday to start off that pre-Halloween weekend.
