Show Preview! Owl Pussycat and The Wooden Sky at Barboza This Saturday

Posted by on Tue, Nov 13, 2012 at 10:09 AM

Check out this texture-rich video for local duo Owl Pussycat. Before you even get to the music, it’s full of neat shots of the rain and weird use of light. Lifting harmonies pelted by an obtuse note here and there make the melodies from this duo feel like some kind of acoustic shoegaze, a sound their album Music For Your Honeymoon damn near sets flight on; they call it magic, I’ll call it gypsy jazz folk.

Owl Pussycat will be opening for Toronto tornados The Wooden Sky down in the bomb shelter that is the Barboza on Saturday. Watch this thunderous live video series they made in Grace On The Hill Church in Toronto to see why I’m rearranging my life to try and make it to this show.

This is a 7 pm early show. Tickets here.
