It opens the trio's latest album Tomorrow People. It is exactly how hiphop should be done: spare, bass-thick, hints of a melody, a touch of strings, stabs of scratching, a raw beat/meat, and lots of room for rhymes. It's called "So Funky" because it is so funky...
It looks like The Physics and Fin Records are developing a relationship...
Ballard record label Fin Records is proud to announce they will be issuing a 12" single by premier local hip hop act, The Physics in 2013.All I have to say is fare forward voyagers. When asked about the upcoming collaboration Justo from The Physics stated, "We're excited to work with the good people at Fin to continue putting out great music/art." Fin Label owner Christian Fulghum echoed the enthusiasm by adding, "The Physics are making exciting fresh music, and we are stoked to be partnering with them to reach the wider audience they have earned."
The Physics are known far and wide as the soul of Seattle hip hop and are one of the region's most well-known acts. Their most recent full length, 'Tomorrow People' spent four consecutive weeks at no. 1 on KEXP's hip hop charts and was featured on the front page of NPR.org.
