I'm Super Excited To See White Lung Tomorrow!

Posted by on Wed, Nov 28, 2012 at 4:27 PM

As Emily pointed out in this week's Up & Coming, White Lung are "like the coolest, toughest girl at school, who'll give you a fat lip but let you use her lipstick to cover it up." Although they are present day Canadian citizens, their vibe is more akin to 1987 Southern California... kinda like a more amped-up, violent version of Suburban Lawns. A bunch of their songs kick off with explosive beginnings and reel you in fast; the track "Atlanta" hints at breaking into Sonic Youth's "Catholic Block" before singer Mish Way's Kat Bjelland-esque vocals rip in and completely change it's course. Come to Chop Suey tomorrow and clean out all the Christmas music ear poison you've already been getting subjected to this week.

Here's the new video for their song "Glue!":

I was wanting to check them out too, but it sounds like they aren't on the bill anymore....
