Merry Creepy Christmas, from John Travolta & Olivia Newton-John

Posted by on Wed, Dec 5, 2012 at 12:28 PM

There are no words.

Okay, there are some words: How can people with so much money make such a shitty video? Did they use their whole budget on hair dye and makeup for Travolta?

Christmas is ruined.

So when the 2nd army guy was left all alone, did he and the cop suddenly decide to become lovers?

#1 YT comment: "my eyes have been raped".

ONJ looks pretty good for a cancer survivor. That was recent, right?

(I liked Sonic Vomit too, but only the stuff with their original drummer)

If this had been some kind of home-made youtube video, I would have found it moderately amusing. But for a professionally-produced video with two big-name stars, it was unspeakably bad.

I love the plates on the car: ANTIQUE

Yes guys, you really are - get over yourselves.

BTW - is that Kiwi or shineola that Travolta used to get his hair color?

Did Macca cover the Sonic Vomit hit "Queef"? I'll bet that was it.

Such a great Christmas song. Oh, wish I could've been there!

@23: No way, I didn't know Macca covered a Sonic Vomit song!

Ah, I love Sonic Vomit's early stuff.

Besides Paul McCartney ruined Christmas forever in 1979 with his sonic vomit of a song.

Meh. I'm not even sure that this is the worst song that they have ever recorded together.

Looks like this was filmed at Travolta's Florida home, with parking for five (or so) jets and his own runway:

The tune is half okay, but the video looks less than when professionals should be able to do....ruined Christmas? Alot of Christians have done that....Travolta and Co. couldn't do 1 billionth of the damage the Catholic Church and Evangelicals have over the last 15 years.

A few more observations:

1) Why is ONJ driving so slowly?

2) Putting aside any rumors about Travolta's sexuality, he has a wife. Olivia has a husband. Why are they spending Christmas with each other "making love all night" instead?

3) Why does the old man headbutt the old woman at the 1:45 mark?

4) Why did I watch this?

5) No, really. WHY?

6) Remember the last thing these assholes did together? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EvZhmjRzc…

It took two people to direct this video. To give you some perspective, it only took one guy to direct Schindler's List.

I think I'm being possessed by some sort of pop country (poptry?) demons, except for Travolta's scary "hair," they still have some chemistry these days.

@12, you hear worse tunes than this three times an hour on any modern country station. It's inoffensive pop cheese. No children or animals were harmed. Get over it. Formulaic lyrics? NO REALLY. Next you'll be telling me that pop singers sometimes use Autotune, or that the pictures in fashion magazines are often Photoshopped.

Googling John Travolta's name along with some of the elements from that video produces some results that I'm guessing Kelly Preston would rather people not remember. Of course, the first search suggestion for him on Google is less than coy, so I guess it doesn't matter.

What the fuck is this. This foul shit does not even rise to the level of "catchy country pop", @6, you goddamn subhuman. It's like they started with catchy country pop (which by the way is terrible so don't defend it motherfucker) and edited the lyrics until every line was awkward and non-musical.

It's catchy pop country. I wouldn't listen to it twice but it's not hurting anybody. Travolta's hair and beard, though -- that's painful to look at.

Remember back in the early/mid-80s when Madonna had that neat contest where anyone could create a video for True Blue, and MTV aired every one of them for 24 hours? This video reminds me of one of those submissions.
