New Releases Beat Connection's Reed Juenger is Dutty Wilderness: Free Mixtape

Reed Juenger of Beat Connection is Dutty Wilderness, and Dutty Wilderness has put out a free beat/mixtape called Sudden Vacation. It's a collection of rougher drafts and feels, paying homage to J Dilla, Primo, Large Professor, RZA, and newer comers Star Slinger, Zomby, Hit-Boy, Teams, and TNGHT. Juenger pours a malachite breeze through an aerodynamic wind-testing chamber, and it makes for a nice soak. Big beats break off in chunks, and plenty of samples are sliced. “21st Century Tear Drops” is sticking my gold star thus far. Tight batches of 16th beats cut, break, and careen.
Juenger said, “I remember freaking out when I heard Dilla’s “Airworks” for the first time. And also “Waves.” Those were big moments, and the mythology behind Donuts is ridiculously sad and intriguing.”
