For as Much as I Get Lost Chasing New Jams, When I Listen to the Classics I'm Reminded They are CLASSICS for a Reason

As much as my time and money will allow I'm constantly chasing music/records I've never heard, but those foundation groups, the seminal, IMPORTANT motherfuckers, always earn their keep. Today, while tryna sort out another post, I backtracked to the Sonics. FUCK YEAH! Obvs, at this point, the Sonics ain't no secret; nor is their place as a FOUNDATION group, but I ain't listened to 'em in a while and they're currently coming on so fucking FRESH.

I'm not a Warshington native, so I first HEARD OF the Sonics legend before I heard their jams; jams which eventually came via Nuggets comps, cut-out copies of the LP series no less!! I think I was 19 when I ferreted out them records. "Boss Hoss" and "He's Waiting" were the tracks on that Nuggets and my ONLY known Sonics tracks for, like, EVER!!! ANYWAY...on with the show...

Seriously, the Sonics is all I'ma listen to today.

[The Sonics play Showbox at the Market Sat. Feb. 2 with Mudhoney.]
