Your Last Splash Of 2012

Posted by on Mon, Dec 31, 2012 at 12:30 PM

How stoked are you that Last Splash is going to be reissued in a deluxe 20th anniversary edition, and that the 1994 lineup of The Breeders is going to tour performing it? Who knows?! How stoked am I? Extremely! High school me is spazzing so hard in his corduroys right now. All this means I'm old, I guess, but catch me in the streets not caring.

Also, I didn't know that the Kim Deal is making a solo record, but now I do—read this—and now I'm plotting on how to cop the already-sold-out 7" she released last month. But at least we can listen to the music it contains, via Soundcloud. It's not the All Wave way—but it, like the Deal herself, is the best we've got.

High school me thought this was an album of filler buoyed by 2 decent singles but high school me was wrong about an alarming number of things.

On that note I'm sharing an interview I did with kelley Deal in 1996. Not because it's any good, mind you. In fact, it's awfully cringeworthy, Kids, you too can be a journalist. http://www.live-wire.com/interviews/kelley-deal/">http://web.archive.org/web/1997051115112…
