French director Michel Gondry (The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Science of Sleep), who spends much of his time in the US these days, has been playing drums for about as long as he's been making films. In the animated short below, he does both, i.e. directs the action and plays the drums.

I think I prefer the song to the film.

For his next film, Mood Indigo, Gondry adapted author-musician Boris Vian's 1947 novel, Froth on the Daydream (L'écume des Jours). It stars Romain Duris and Audrey Tautou, and StudioCanal plans to release it in April. IMDb description: "A woman suffers from an unusual illness caused by a flower growing in her lungs."

H/t: Adrian Martin.
