Camp Lo Is Performing Their Classic First Album At Neumos Tonight, People...

...and THAT IS A BIG DEAL. Uptown Saturday Night is an undisputable hiphop iconoclassic in my book. Front to back. Great vintage production (good enough that even Jay-Z had to poach a song they were working on) and the unmistakable, slanged out, retro style of G. Suede and Sonny Cheeba. You should listen to it, since it's Friday and you're probably just sitting on your ass:

Sadly, I will miss it. I'm headed out on the road with Shabazz Palaces, which unfortunately also means one of my very favorite moments from that album will not happen. I really, really, REALLY think you should go though, and my spirit will live through yours, forevermore, like JD's Revenge, and that is just the kind of blaxploitation reference that the LO-AH would appreicate.

Maybe you can talk Ish into busting a few of his bars from his guest spot on this album for you?
