It's January 24th, 2013 And You're in a Rad Garage Band - GFY - The Briks

Like yesterday's "IJ2013AYiaRGB-GFY" entry, the Zakary Thaks, the Briks were a Texas group. They first formed at college, Texas Tech, as the Embers, but then moved to townships outside of Dallas and renamed themselves the Briks. Their first single is a great double sider. The 'A' side "Can You See Me?," is a sweet, harmony jangler, and the flip is a garage KILLER! Dig it...

This 45 sold 5000 copies locally!! It was originally issued on Bismark, but was picked up nationally by Dot Records. It didn't chart tho'. The group soldiered on in Texas till 1968 when they ran out of steam and split. Oh, they did record a bunch tho', which remained unreleased at the time; they only had one more 45 issued, their version of the Cream's "NSU" b/w "From A Small Room," also on Bismark.
