Light in the Attic to Reissue First Big Boys LP

Posted by on Sat, Feb 23, 2013 at 2:05 PM

I can assume that the best news I'll hear all day is that Light in the Attic is set to release the first Big Boys LP Where's My Towel/Industry Standard in a limited edition run. This masterpiece is getting the full 180 gram treatment with four different vinyl color variations, with a bunch of extras.

If you're unfamiliar, here's a historical tidbit from the LITA site:

Skate Rock may have been one of the defining sounds of Southern California in the late ’80 / early ‘90s, but its origins were in another time and place. It began, in fact, in post-Outlaw Country 1970s Austin, Texas. That’s where singer Randy “Biscuit” Turner, guitarist Tim Kerr, bassist Chris Gates and drummer Greg Murray were mixing the prevailing trend of playing hard and fast with playing loose and funky.

Also a delightful surprise, Light in the Attic has released a mini-doc to coincide with the release that is totally excellent. Have a look below:

Sure did, I think I was there the same night as you! Aside from a few other things (most of their catalog), the homophobia of the Bad Brains is a real bummer of their legacy.

Thanks for posting, Derek. Have you seen the Bad Brains doc? Recounts the H.R.-Big Boys incident.
