This trio, Black Banana, from Bradford, PA/Limestone, NY, issued one of the latest actual garage jams!! It's true, their "Listen Girl" was released in 1969! Uh...WHAT?! 1969!?! Yeah, that IS late considering the erm...uh..."golden" era of '60s garage/beat is '63-66, natch, so by '69 most all the garage groups had gone "long hair, man"...like GROOVY; a sound which hardly dings the teen snot-o-meter!
Their original, full, band name was Black Banana Mailbox, so it sounds like they were flying a freak flag of the time, but perhaps their music had gotten properly laced, not yet.
