TERRIBLE NEWS: Mark McGrath & Friends Cruise Cancelled

Posted by on Fri, Mar 1, 2013 at 12:08 PM

I hate to have to be the one to break this new to anyone who hasn't heard, but it appears that the Mark McGrath & Friends Cruise has been cancelled.

The announcement was made on the events website and facebook page, and tickets for the ($649!) cruise will be refunded. Mark Mcgrath is calling the cancellation a "real bummer," and is blaming it's failure on bad press from Carnival's recent "poop cruise" disaster on twitter.

The cruise was supposed to have featured nightly shows and unplugged sessions from the likes of Sugar Ray, Marcy Playground, Smashmouth, the Spin Doctors and more for what McGrath himself called a "utopian adventure." Wow. (I don't wanna start any gossip, but do you think that maybe the actual reason it got cancelled was because one of the "& Friends" was being a diva?) I really don't know how music fans around the world are going to cope with this crippling disappointment... I guess I'm going to go listen to "Little Miss" and "Fly" a few times and then go back to bed.

Chorus to RPM, the first track on 1997 hit album "Floored": "I will let you down."

That would have been worse than the Poop Cruise, honestly.

Perhaps you should include Sugar Ray's "When It's Over" to the list.
