This song, "This Calls For A Celebration," is a dreamy garage/folk-rock jam which dips ever so slightly into lysergia. Now, normally an acid dip might keep me from posting a great song as a proper IM8th2013AYiaRGB-GFY jam, BUT I bought a copy today!! So I was inspired. "This Calls For A Celebration" was in fact the 'B' side to the whump-a-dump 'A' side "Midnight Snack;" a real stinky 'A' side.
The Fantastic Zoo were actually The Fogcutters, a Denver, CO group which relocated to LA and signed to the Double Shot label. After "Midnight Snack"/"This Calls For A Celebration," the Fantastic Zoo only had one another single, "Light Show," issued on the label in early 1967, it was quite the tripper. It's a great track, but real hard to find...
