Today in Numbnuts: Fake Band Names @ Coachella

Posted by on Tue, Apr 23, 2013 at 11:59 AM

This is all over the interwebs right now. For good reason. People will say anything to a video camera, especially when there's a headband cutting off the circulation of oxygen to their brains. "Doctor Shlomoe and the G.I. Clinic?"... "Get The Fuck Out of My Pool?!?" C'mon people.

Isn't it possible that the person asking questions is being dubbed over?

Once upon a time, even douchey poseurs who would say anything to appear to be hip would have gone, "wait, what? Who?" to questions like this, but band names have been so bad and meaningless for so long that it doesn't even occur to anyone to question them.

This is what 90% of the world thinks about the conversations that happen here.

The old joke
Q: how many Olympia hipsters does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
A: (with disgust) You don't know?

I love that Two Door Cinema club is the only fake enough real band name to make it into this mix.
