This week Barsuk Records announced the lineup for their upcoming anniversary celebration—it's four days of shows, featuring many of the label's past and present stars, including Nada Surf, the Long Winters, Jesse Sykes, and so many more.
Here's the lineup:
THU NOV 7 · SHOWBOX AT THE MARKET Nada Surf (playing Let Go in its entirety) + Mates of State + Special Guests
FRI NOV 8 · NEPTUNE THEATRE The Long Winters (playing When I Pretend To Fall in its entirety) + David Bazan + Chris Walla + Minor Alps + Special Guests
SAT NOV 9 · NEUMOS Menomena + Maps & Atlases + Yellow Ostrich + Cymbals Eat Guitars + Special End-Of-Night Guests
SUN NOV 10 · TRACTOR TAVERN Jesse Sykes & The Sweet Hereafter (playing Reckless Burning in its entirety) + Rocky Votolato + Laura Gibson (solo) + Special Guests
As for who the "special end-of-night guests" are on Saturday, I can't say. Not because I know and won't say, but because I don't know. So let the speculation begin! Death Cab? Ra Ra Riot? Say Hi? The Dismemberment Plan? WHO!?
In other Barsuk news, if you're attending Bumbershoot, be sure to make time for the 15 Years of Barsuk Records panel at the Word and Ideas stage on Sunday, September 1. Sean Nelson will host the talk, which will also feature label co-founder Josh Rosenfeld and musicians John Roderick, David Bazan, and more. It'll probably be real cool if you're a Barsuk nerd like me.
