[UPDATE: Flier actually came out in digital form in 2011. Nuearth Kitchen is preparing to issue it on vinyl next month. Because most people overlooked this, though, it might as well be a new release.]
Mercurial Seattle producer Jon McMillion (aka Wig Water Magic) has a preview of his forthcoming Flier EP (out digitally on vinyl Sept. 30 on Nuearth Kitchen). Judging from the snippets of the EP's six tracks below, McMillion is further honing his patented forays into intoxicating, nocturnal atmospheres, buttressed by fascinating rhythms. His is a peculiarly organic strain of techno that triggers both feelings of unease and levity. Packing paradoxical energy and elements into every bar, McMillion subtly reorganizes techno's DNA.
