Ah, dig the easy cool of this English beat group, Brian Diamond & the Cutters; they're one of them also ran groups which fell on the poppier side of UK beat. Groups like this often produced great records, but they didn't have an edge, were a bit dated by the time their record came out, or just got lost in the massive swell of '60s beat bands.
BD&tC were a group of fellers from South London who, in 1963, made their first record; it went nowhere. Over the next two years they cut a few more 45s, all for different labels; they too went nowhere. In fact, “Big Bad Wolf” from 1965 and issued on Pye, was the closest they'd come to a hit. BD&tC even toured England, Germany and Europe, toured with some big name singers (Tony Orlando!!), but by 1966 with no breakthrough (and no money) they broke up.
