I hafta admit I'm obsessed in LOVE with the 4 Seasons' jam, "Beggin'"—I have been for years. For a while in the oughties I bought up every copy I could find, then it got remade/remixed by some yahoo in Europe and the copies dried up. Really tho' I didn't need anymore, so I started buying as many OTHER versions by OTHER groups/singers I could find. Now, I currently have a handful of all kindsa' "Beggin's." Of all the versions, of those I've heard, the English group Timebox is the best. It even beats the 4 Seasons original. Everything about this verision is huge—the arrangment, the production... THOSE STRINGS (!!) and Mike Patto's vox.
A couple other notable versions are Claude François 1968 ye-ye version as "Reste;" it's solid, like a big soundstage production and the break is good, kinda sample-able perhaps!! And the version I don't have a copy of, not yet, is by the Dutch long hair group, the Shocking Blue. Their version is FUNKY, and LP only, on their Good Times LP from 1974.
