I haven't listened to the whole thing yet—I've only heard two tracks—but I have a sneaking suspicion that I'm gonna love As Plantas Que Curam, the full-length debut from Brazilian psych-rock outfit Boogarins. I wrote about the first single, "Lucifernandis," here, and now the group has issued a video to incarnate the blissed-out vibes.
There isn't anything fancy going on here. Director Maurélio Toscano simply documents the band members driving around and playing in front of a rural train station as the sun shines through the trees, but it doesn't need more activity than that. Furthermore, the musicians are a little awkward at the obligatory performing-without-an-audience pantomime, which adds to the charm (and I like the way the setting evokes Walter Salles's fine film Central Station).
Other Music Recording Co releases As Plantas Que Curam on Sept 30.
