Can't Help Thinking About Bowie: KEXP Hails the Thin White Duke's Birthday

Posted by on Wed, Jan 8, 2014 at 2:07 PM

Seattle radio powerhouse KEXP has been celebrating the 67th birthday of David Bowie all day today. The festivities will climax with DJ El Toro’s slot from 9 pm-1 am, as he devotes his entire show to the Thin White Duke’s vastly influential rock songs as well as other musicians covering him, collabs, and assorted Bowie-affiliated material. It’s hard to think of anyone better equipped to deal with Bowie’s Byzantine, nearly 50-year career and its many tributaries than El Toro (aka Stranger freelancer Kurt B. Reighley). You can tune in at 90.3 FM in the Seattle area or at kexp.org worldwide.
