Pat Smear, Former Germs Guitarist, Won A Grammy?!

Posted by on Mon, Jan 27, 2014 at 1:59 PM

I think I remember a bunch of internet chatter regarding Wings' former bassist, Paul McCartney, and the remaining members of Nirvana, a '90s band from Aberdeen, Washington, getting together sometime this past summer when McCartney played a Seattle concert. I don't really remember the details, tho' I may have listened to the song once (and having listened to it again like, five minutes ago, I understand why I only MAYBE listened once and wrote it off as a "Kyuss outtake"). Right, well the only reason I give a shit about the McCartney and the Nirvanas song, "Cut Me Some Slack," TODAY is 'cuz the song won a fancy pants award last night: a Grammy. WHAT?! SO...uh, PAT SMEAR won a goddamn Grammy. Pat Smear was a late addition to Nirvana as second guitarist, so he was also part of this "project," but more importantly, 35 years ago he was in a seminal underground band, HATED by the establishment and squares everywhere, the genius goddamn Germs. Fucking crazy.
