Former Film + Music Office Head James Keblas Gets Roasted at the Showbox

Posted by on Wed, Feb 26, 2014 at 5:00 PM

The cream of Seattle's cinema and music communities will be roasting beloved outgoing Office of Film + Music director James Keblas at Showbox at the Market tonight. (Doors at 6; festivities at 7; free and 21+.) If you can't attend the event, you can view it on the Lively app here. From the press release: "A surprise panel of James's friends, colleagues, and admirers show their gratitude the way true friends do; with cheap jokes and low blows. There will be film, live music, and drinking. There may be tears, and there are sure to be a lot of laughs."

Keblas served in the position for nine years and earned plaudits from a broad spectrum of this city's cultural community. His firing was not well-received by many local filmmakers, musicians, and observers. Kate Becker, another highly respected and long-serving figure in Seattle's arts scenes, replaces Keblas.
