(Moore) The word “prestige” isn’t exactly synonymous with the blues, that most earthy and gritty music; yet if anyone’s earned the title of prestigious bluesman, it would be B.B. King, nearing 90 years old and still gigging at a rate that would shame most of these young whippersnappers. Hugely influential as a guitarist, a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, and all-around living legend, King’s lived the sort of hardscrabble life from which the truest blues are forged. Also of note: His onstage banter which would, again, make the current generation of preening, frown-faced rockers blush. The man likes his Viagra, y’all, and isn’t afraid to let you know.
