Tickets Special Pre-Sale for Sol's Farewell Show at the Showbox!

Tickets to Sol's farewell show (learn more about where he's going and what he's doing next here!) don't officially go on sale until tomorrow at 10 am. BUT! We have a special pre-sale available for Stranger readers. Hey, thanks you!

The show is on June 16th at the Showbox at the Market. It's all ages and XV and the Physics are also on the bill.

Tickets / On Tour Should I Have Paid $36.50 To See Die Antwoord In A Casino?

I just got back from Vegas, where I was surprised to see Die Antwoord's name on a casino marquee—especially at Mandalay Bay. I missed the Seattle show last week, and was still curious. I was also spending (and winning) lots of money on slots and black jack tables. Tickets for Die Antwoord were $36.50 per person. This seemed like too much. Should I have paid, and gone anyway?

Tickets / Crap / ??!! Live From U-Village: The Black Keys and OneRepublic

A local major software company whose name makes perverted minds think of the effects of a penis in cold water is opening a store today in the U-Village. At 9:30 am, the doors open to the Microsoft Store (conveniently located near the Apple store) and the first 200 people will "receive two complimentary premier-viewing tickets to their choice of either The Black Keys performance on Friday, October 21st, or the OneRepublic performance on Saturday, October 22nd, along with one VIP pass to meet OneRepublic after their show." There will be another 800 tickets given out to the concert of your choice but only if one visits the store.
The base for technology and coolness in the future (put down your iPods, kids) will be the concert venue of tomorrow (and Saturday), as these concerts are taking place in front of the Microsoft Store, IN THE U-VILLAGE PARKING LOT, one of the most annoying parking lots to navigate on a REGULAR TUESDAY AFTERNOON. Just in case you were wondering when NOT to drive to U-Village and hope for parking spaces or people with logical driving skills, the Black Keys play at 7:00 pm Friday, October 21, and OneRepublic plays at 2:30 pm Saturday, October 22. So weird that the Flaming Lips are playing the Puyallup Fair, right? I think a carnival is actually a great place to see them—get dizzy on the Tilt-o-Whirl and then go dance with Wayne Coyne and all his fuzzy friends! Anyway, if you plan on going, Line Out reader Tom has a tip for you:
Some of your readers might be interested to know that you can buy half-off tickets to the Flaming Lips show at the Puyallup Fair on September 21 through Amazon. $30 tickets for $15, and that includes admission to the fair too. Seems like they're going quickly at that price.

As Grant mentioned, City Arts Fest three-day passes are now on sale—their line-up includes Ryan Adams, Robyn, Built to Spill, the Long Winters, Fences, Fastbacks, Blackalicious, and a whole bunch more.
But hopefully you've been saving your money because the pre-sale for Watch the Throne (Jay-Z and Kanye West) started this morning, too. As already noted on SeaShows, our ticket twitter feed, you can buy tickets here using the code WTT. They're pricey. You've been warned.
And! Feist is on sale! Washed Out is on sale! Erasure tickets are still available now that the show has been moved from the Neptune to the Moore Theatre! And Odd Future tickets for their show at the Showbox at the Market will go on sale tomorrow at 10 am (I do not like them—blech—but maybe you do. So now you know).

If you were listening to 107.7 the End at 7:50 this morning, then you heard the news—Death Cab for Cutie are playing a surprise show tomorrow night at the Showbox Sodo and tickets go on sale at 8 am this morning.
The show is at 8:30 pm, doors are at 7 pm, it's $25, and it's a benefit show for Seattle School Lunch Program. Read all the details, and get the ticket link, right here, at Harms' blog.

On Saturday, April 9th, Healthy Times Fun Club will host Rhode Island noise duo Lightning Bolt (duh). Since this is going to be such a hot-item show, it is—unusually for HTFC—an advance tickets only affair. To score your tickets now (and I do recommend doing it ASAP), try these fine area locations:

-Pilot Books (219 Broadway E)
-Hollow Earth Radio (2018 A East Union St.)
The H.E.R. folks suggest you stop by on Sundays, Wednesdays or Fridays, cuz that's when the most volunteers are around.
