Helms Alee Out, Git Some In

Posted by on Wed, Nov 18, 2009 at 3:21 PM

Helms Alee are no longer opening tonight's Russian Circles show at Neumos. Git Some from Denver have been added to the bill.

Here are three things I learned about Git Some after spending approximately two minutes on their MySpace:

1) They have a song called "That's Just Eczema." (Ha!)
2) They are "down with Hall & Oates."
3) They look like this:

I like 'em already.

No comment on the Planes Mistaken For Stars connection!? Lazy, lazy reporting!

Unless Git Some are playing all Verellen amps and also selling Helms Alee merch instead of their own, it looks like Helms Alee ARE playing to me.

@3 Whaaaaat? Weird! Neumos confirmed they were off the bill and Git Some were on. I'm a block away from Neumos, but like Nick said, I'm too lazy to go see if you're telling the truth. (I'm kidding. I'm coming to the show. This better not be a joke.)

I can forgive Megan for omitting the PMFS connection, because every time I've seen them in the northwest, I was one of maybe twenty people in the room. Sad but true.

@J. Burns - Every time they've been here I've WANTED to be that 21st person, but I've had to play a show elsewhere every time. I'm cursed! But I do have their Cosmic Rock LP and enjoy it quite a bit.

I don't understand this post as well as the one above. The show tonight had always been all ages, my ticket said so when I bought it weeks ago. Also, Helms Alee opened tonight and did good things with the music. Where were you getting this information from?

@7 I got it from Neumos. They were told on Monday that Git Some would be playing and Helms Alee would not. And then they had also been promoting the show as 21+ on their website, but since they sold some all-ages tickets, they had to open it to everyone. It was a confusing event, apparently.

@8 That makes sense. I was somewhat suprised how few people were in the under-21 section upstairs. Git Some was on tap to play RS's next set on the tour, so it might have been confusion with the promoter somehow.

Sorry if I sounded like an asshole commenter, I didn't mean to come off that way :)

Sorry, we were told that Helms Alee wasn't playing. Makes about zero sense. Sorry for the bad info. Megan.

Git Some are FUCKING GREAT... I love Helms Alee, but it would have been nice to see another touring band that doesn't play here much...

oh, and Planes Mistaken for Stars ROCKED. I did get to see their last show in Seattle (after missing their opening set at Mastodon/Against Me)
