I was feeling maybe a little too much of the AC coming from City Center last night--but i think that's more a function of the limitations of the live show, which it seems like they're still figuring out. On disc they're more spacious and shoegazy.

I also think their lyrics (which you couldn't really hear, but still...) are worlds beyond Animal Collective, probably better than High Places too. Fred, the main songwriter is also the main dude in Saturday Looks Good To Me.
Seriously check out the blog at citycenternyc.blogspot.com for a shitload of free music (including an amazing high places remix of a SLGTM jam. Mary plays the bassoon!

I miss The Unicorns SOOOO much. Islands have never done it for me. My friend in Olympia saw Clues and/or was listening to their music a couple of days ago and him talking about it made me want to listen to The Unicorns and also to see Clues. Unfortunately, couldn't make it to the show last night because of previous engagements, but I will definitely check them out the next time they come around. Until then, I will revisit Who Will Cut Our Hair When We're Gone? as I did last night as well.
