(Also, #4 makes a good point; even if this is a news item, the tone seems weirdly, needlessly pissy. Funny too, irt building up/tearing down, that he was playing the Pitchfork-sponsored stage at that festival.)

That said, I found this "news" item on Pitchfork to be utterly disgusting. Aside from the total tabloid nature of this piece, let us not forget that Pitchfork's championing of Wavves has, realistically, a great deal to do with their success, including playing Primavera. The joy with which Pitchfork seemed ready to start tearing down a young band that they helped prop up really repulsed me. Independent music is not supposed to embrace the culture of disposability, but what is, for better or worse, the most influential independent music website on the internet starts behaving like it's edited by Perez Hilton, I fear we are letting that happen.

Dudes fucking up on stage and throwing a tantrum is a funny anecdote to share with your friends after a show. It is not a news item.
