Yeah, despite the exposure, I don't think 'Orbus Terrarum' sold well or had the boundary-pushing music of 'Ultraworld' or a #1 UK single ('Blue Room'). The push kind of seems engineered by labels to have another big hit, but it didn't materialize. Not to say it's a bad album in any respect, a friend of mine who is big into the Orb swears its one of their best if not their best and forced me to borrow it more than one time.

Yes, I believe it did get a good review in Rolling Stone and pretty much marked the high point of their popularity. Although it got good lots of good reviews, I don't often hear it mentioned when people rattle off their top Orb albums. Maybe i'm hanging with the wrong people.

The Orb BBC Sessions two cd set that was released last year has a good amount of material featuring Hughes. It's one of the better Orb compilations and if you love Live 93 or early live Orb in general, you need to hear these versions.

"Under appreciated mid-period"? I thought Orbus Terrarum was one of the only records of theirs to got major press exposure back in the mid 90s... and it was one of about ten albums I returned to over and over again throughout my college years. Damn.
