      <![CDATA[Instead of namby pamby ambient (which I love to DJ, so step off) why not some more triphop-inspired tracks?  I'm not saying that clubs should play decade-old Massive Attack and Portishead, no one should do that, but some Lemon Jelly, Gorillaz, Lovage, etc would be a good starter and wouldn't fly right over the heads of the headz.

      <![CDATA[I know the premise of this thread was mainly to talk about chill-out music, and it's normally not a bad idea to use a tragedy to segue into this topic.<br />
<br />
But the shooting at Chop Suey was a particular poor example, unfortunately, because the suspects weren't even at the event.  They opened the door of the venue, took shots, then left.  Allegedly, this was gang related.  If so, no amount of chilling-out music could have prevented this.
