I think this, among The Move and others you mention, dave, fall underneath #5... #5 is also another reason I still love hip hop

@3 Good point. Buzzcocks singer Pete Shelley even wrote liner notes to Can's Canibalism comp. That being said, "Boredom" is not an obvious tune to sample.

One fertile genre that, in my eyes, has never really been touched upon by hip-hop producers is the first wave of glam rock. There are some serious beats to be plundered once you get past the feather boas.
