Yup, we have a pair of tickets to give away to Morrissey's upcoming show at the Paramount. They're sitting right here on my desk, in fact. I could very well use them myself, but I won't. I will keep my promise to give them to one lucky Line Out reader for FREE.

To enter, just e-mail your first and last name to freetickets@thestranger.com with Morrissey in the subject line.

A winner will be notified early next week.

Or, if you'd rather, you can just buy tickets here.

Good luck!

Mission of Burma and Explode Into Colors are playing the Croc tonight and we're giving away a pair of tickets to the show via our ticket info Twitter feed! Check out @SEAshows to find out how to win. (It's easy, I promise.)

Here's what Eric Grandy wrote about Explode Into Colors in last week's U&Cs:

Mission of Burma, Explode into Colors
(Crocodile) Mission of Burma are a well-known quantity at this point, but openers (and recent Kill Rock Stars signees) Explode into Colors might not be—at least not yet. The Portland trio of Claudia Meza (baritone guitar, ex-Japanther), Heather Treadway (percussion, melodica), and Lisa Shonberg (drums) make rickety, rumbling dub punk that sounds like a more scattered, spooked-up echo of the Slits. On the song "Heat," over fraying, high-frequency delay; a sparse, funky bass line; and some tumbling drum clatter, the band break into a spectral chorus of "bombs over Baghdad" that lands as credibly as Dungeon Family appreciation as it does as inscrutable war protest. Righteous XX-chromosome post-punk may not be uncharted territory—what is in 2009?—but Explode into Colors tread it artfully. This is their first Seattle appearance outside of playing house shows—don't miss it. ERIC GRANDY

Gina Young also advises you not to miss them.

(UPDATE: The tickets have been won. If you missed out, tickets will still be available at the door—doors open at 8 pm.)

Just send your first and last name in an e-mail to freetickets@thestranger.com with Mountain Goats in the subject line.

Here's what Eric Grandy said about the show in this week's Stranger Suggests:

The Mountain Goats, Final Fantasy
Each song on the new Mountain Goats album, The Life of the World to Come, is named after a Bible verse. "Genesis 3:23" ("So the Lord God banished him from the Garden of Eden..."), for instance, is a song about singer-songwriter John Darnielle visiting his old place in Portland and how you can't go home again. As ever, Darnielle's spare acoustic songs tell compelling, detail-rich stories of human misery and persevering hope. Opening is Final Fantasy, the oddball conceptual chamber-pop project of prolific orchestral arranger Owen Pallett. (Showbox at the Market, 1426 First Ave, www.ticketmaster.com. 8 pm, $20, all ages.)

And if you really, really, REALLY want the tickets, you can double your chances of wining by entering AGAIN via the SEAshows Twitter feed! We have two pairs of tickets to give away—we'll pick a winner from both e-mail and Twitter.

That doesn't mean you're completely out of luck!

It's true that you can no longer get into the Southern Comfort-sponsored show via text message, but you CAN get into the show by winning a spot on the list with a +1 from Line Out!

Everything we do, we do for you.

To enter, just send your first and last name to freetickets@thestranger.com with the Hold Steady in the subject line. We'll randomly choose one of you to get into tomorrow's sold out show!

Aaaaand... if you don't win and didn't get on the list earlier, you could always just head down to the Croc tomorrow, grab a pizza and some beer at Via Tribunali and, you know, see what happens. Couldn't hurt, right?

Good luck!

I know it's not "cool" or whatever, but I like the band Brand New. I think they're underrated. And in last week's Underage column, I reviewed their new album Daisy in preparation for tonight's show at the Showbox SoDo:

It opens with a woman singing an old-timey ballad that sounds like it's crackling out of a wooden radio from the 1930s. It goes on for over a minute, and just as you begin to wonder if that's it, if that's all the song really is, the band's drums, bass, and guitar all pound in to kick off "Vices," one of the most abrasive songs the band have ever written. Singer Jesse Lacy has never sounded so frenzied as he does screeching, "She said good-bye to the ground... and JUMPED!"

Also more prevalent than ever before is their admiration for early Modest Mouse. It's no secret the band members are fans—when they played Showbox Sodo a couple years ago, the band covered "Trailer Trash." On Daisy, both "At the Bottom" and "Be Gone" sound like the efforts of a less drunk but more goth Isaac Brock.

Want to see Brand New at the Showbox SoDo tonight for free?? Then send your first and last name to freetickets@thestranger.com with Brand New in the subject line. One winner will be chosen at 2 pm today and put on the guest list for the show.

Good luck!

From this week's U&Cs:

Junior Boys, Circlesquare
(Chop Suey) I wasn't that stoked to see Junior Boys last time they came through town. For one thing, I was more excited about catching their opening act, the inimitable Max Tundra, but for another, I remembered their live sets being kind of anemic, a problem given that their icy-cool elecro pop is already pretty understated on record. But either I remembered wrong or else the duo have stepped up their game, because that show killed. The Boys gradually dialed up the intensity, building from frosty soul jams to subtly persuasive percussive tracks, making for a surprisingly sweaty dance party for a Sunday night. So color me converted—I can't wait to see how they'll warm things up on a proper Saturday night. ERIC GRANDY

SEAshows is the Stranger's new Twitter feed that keeps you up to speed on when your favorite bands are playing around town and when tickets go on sale. Dozens of local venues and promoters are already using it to announce their shows, ticket sale information, and even pre-sale codes. You'll never miss your chance to buy tickets again!

And what's another great reason to follow SEAshows? Free shit. For example, sometime between right now and tomorrow afternoon, we're going to give away a pair of Sunny Day Real Estate tickets via SEAshows (the band is playing the Paramount Theatre Friday, October 16). Once the message goes out, the first person to follow the instructions will get the tickets, so you have to follow to win!

Feel like taking a road trip? On October 17th, dozens are artists are going to perform at the Garage Fest in Portland—Roky Erickson, the Dirtbombs, Black Lips, Pierced Arrows, Jay Reatard, King Khan & BBQ Show, Gris Gris, the Spits, Dutchess & the Duke, and many, many more. The whole thing is FREE so long as you register in advance here, but two lucky Line Out readers get to get to go for free! Wait... what?

Let me explain.

When you register online (by September 28th, hurry!), all that means is you will be on the list to get a wristband at the gate. So you'll have to go down there, and then wait in the will call lines to get your wristband before you can actually enter the festival. And even then, it's based on a first come first served basis, so you might not even get in if you get there late. Pain. In. The. Ass.

But winning a pair of wristbands will allow you to bypass that step! The wristbands will be sent to you in the mail, so all you have to do is show up whenever the fuck you want, flash your wristband, and head on in to the festival! (The music happens in four different venues and their capacity varies—the wristband doesn't guarantee you entry to a full venue.)

To enter to win a pair of wristbands, just send your first name and mailing address to freetickets@thestranger.com—put Garage Fest in the subject line. Two winners will be notified via e-mail, and your wristbands will be sent next week to allow plenty of time for them to get there before you head out of town. We will only use your mailing address to send you your wristbands—no mailing lists or anything else. Promise.

For the complete line-up, venue info, and to register for a wristband, visit www.scion.com/garagefest.

Good luck!

You can buy tickets here, starting Saturday at 10 am (pre-sale started today, if you're a member of the KISS Army).

One winner will be randomly chosen and notified via e-mail. They're hard tickets, so you'll have to be able to come to the Stranger offices on Capitol Hill to pick them up before the show (you'll be given plenty of notice, though, should you have to make arrangements with work or something).

Good luck!

I totally forget that we have a pair of tickets to tomorrow night's Monotonix show to give away. For free! Maybe for you!

This is what a Monotonix show looks like:

If you want to go (and you do) send your first and last name to freetickets@thestranger.com with Monotonix in the subject line. (If you have and extra $13, you can also still buy your tickets here.)

Also: This will be the LAST SEATTLE SHOW for openers Black Eyes and Neckties. Sad! After seven years, the band has announced they're breaking up and they're playing their last show ever Halloween night in Bellingham. So, you know, missing this show would be a silly thing to do. And now, with the possibility of free tickets, you have no excuses!

And if you do want to go, then you probably want to go for free, right? Well I have a pair of tickets good for any one day of the festival. So, you could be nice and take a friend one day, or you could be a greedy jerk and use them both yourself and get in for free for two days. You decide!

But that's not all. Along with the tickets comes two vouchers for two extra drink tokens. Sweet!

Here's just a sample of some of the bands who'll be playing over the weekend: Central Services, They Live!, Boat, the Redwood Plan, Champagne Champagne, Skeletons with Flesh on Them, the Kindness Kind... the list goes on. So if that sounds like a fun time to you, send an e-mail to freetickets@thestranger.com with BEER! in the subject line.

The tickets are here at the Stranger's office on Capitol Hill, so you'd have to be able to come in between 9 am and 5 pm tomorrow to pick them up. A winner will be notified tonight at 5 pm.

Good luck!
