Dylan dated Anne Murray? Hot!

1970? Wasn't she into Graham Nash (and totally vice versa) in 1970?

I'm a hardcore Joni Mitchellite and I've never heard of a Joni/Jackson Browne link other than they were both on Geffen a little later in the decade. Besides, wasn't Browne in that Orange County circle that included Linda Ronstadt and Eagles? Joni was in the Laurel/Topanga Canyon circle - a completely different scene.

mitchell appeared on jackson browne's 'for everyman' album. it's one of the albums i was given to by a friend, never listened to, and then took to a second hand shop before i moved.

in any case, 1973, she plays piano, there is at least one link.

This kind of "journalism" rankles me. Yes, Joni and Jackson had a relationship, but the use of an anonymous source in revealing the dirt makes me suspicious.

Anyway, after reading the Fox article, it appears there are enough errors in the book to put the professionalism of the writer into question.

Joni said at the time that he "dissed her"? Yeah, sure. Everybody was using that phrase back in 1972. Secondly, Browne's album (sometimes referred to as "Saturate Before Using") was not his second solo release, it was his first. Thirdly, it is hardly "news" (as the author claims) that Joni and Warren Beatty had an affair. I knew about that when I was 12 years old, for God's sakes!

The author of this gossip book really fell down on some simple fact-checking.

I love Car on a Hill but I hope Joni would give us something a little better than that after an attempted suicide.
