I’m Not the Only Person Who Does This, Right?

posted by on May 14 at 15:30 PM

Who else walks around the city listening to music pretending they’re in a music video and/or movie?

I do.

I totally do.

Today I was in Death Cab’s “Transatlanticism” video. Last night I was in Hold Steady’s “First Night” and the Clash’s “Lost in the Supermarket.”

I’m a star.

I listen to the city when I walk around the city.

I generally picture myself in movies or TV shows with the music as part of the soundtrack. or iPod commercials.

At night, I imagine I'm in U.N.K.L.E.'s "Rabbit In Your Headlights".

Sometimes I imagine I'm in a Blink182 video. It's mostly because I run naked down the street a lot.

I feel like this is why cheesy rock vids have "common people" mouthing the lyrics to songs while forlornly looking out a bus window or walking all bored down a street and "singing" the lyrics like its in happenstance. This must be put to a stop.

OMG! Yes Megan, I do that often, this morning I was in a radiohead video, last night at the grocery in a weezer video and two days ago I was dancing in a Madonna video! LOL. Sometimes on the bus I imagine other people in a video I am directing.

My own little world. Glad I am not the only one!
